From stone
to screen.

The Akshara logo carries the shape of old Sinhala letters — a visual echo of forms found in Sri Lanka's stone inscriptions.

The name comes from the letters අ ක ස ර, brought together as a tribute to the written history of the island.

Akshara was first founded by Lahiru Himesh during his A/L project: a Sinhala OCR system that could recognise old stone inscriptions and convert them into natural, understandable Sinhala.
